CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE DANUBE SPRING SCHOOL

After successfully implemented Danube Spring School in Novi Sad for a period of 7 days The closing ceremony has been held in The City Hall. At the closing ceremony were speaking Deputy Mayor of Novi Sad Srdjan Kružević, as a representative of the City of Novi Sad and the deputy director of the Danube Area Research Center Marko Marković as a representative of the organization. The ceremony was attended by participants of the Danube spring school, as well as the entire DAReC team that implemented the program in cooperation with the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad, whose representative at the ceremony was the dean of the faculty Ivana Živančević Sekeruš, PhD.

The audience was addressed by Marko Markovic, who expressed his gratitude to the participants of the school, as well as partners and donors who helped the implementation of the school.

Deputy Mayor Srdjan Kružević addressed the audience with gratitude to representatives of DAReC for the organization of such successful program as well as participants of the school for a visit to Novi Sad and participation in this program with the hope that in the future will visit Novi Sad as project assistants or for tourism.

Participants of Danube Spring School were researchers from 14 countries: Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Croatian, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Serbia, Albania, Ukraine, Russia and China.

During the 7 days, the participants had the opportunity to listen to 12 lectures on education, the media, migrant crisis and the waste water of the Danube region, as well as certain aspects of the Danube region as a macro region and its importance throughout history and cultural heritage. Beside the lectures, participants had a visit to the Catacombs of the Petrovaradin fortress and observed the sky through the telescopes, they were direct participants in the debate on the topic of migrants and had two presentations and a workshop.

Special importance for the participants was group work, where with the support of members of DAReC they prepared and presented their project ideas.

The closing ceremony of the Danube Spring School was completed with the certificate award ceremony to participants of the school.
